I fully expect to get the FALME tag and troll comments but the version of McCain everyone is shaking their heads over as unrecognizable from the McCain they used admire and respect is most likely who John McCain truly is. After all, leopards generally do not change their spots or so the saying goes.
I wish that people would get off the WAR HERO meme with McCain. The widely accepted version of his time as a POW is his own and if anything, this campaign has definitely proven him to be a liar and an ambitious husk of a man devoid of honor and integrity. Additionally, McCain has gone to great lengths to keep his service records SEALED to the possible detriment of other POWs.
Getting shot down over Hanoi could have been bad luck or could be attributable to his oft demonstrated lack of skill as a pilot. His career flight records indicate that the latter is definitely plausible. By not correctly following the ejection sequence training wherein one is instructed to tuck arms and legs, he also managed to badly mangle his arms and a leg.
